My boyfriend gave me a promise ring for our 5th month anniversary I really love it but I was just wondering is it to early to have a promise ring?

I received one from my current boyfriend a little over 6 months, but we were serious about each other from the beginning and I am moving so it symbolizes a lot more for me. It depends on the relationship. Like that quote I'm sure everyone has seen:

I agree with this 110%. I was with my ex 5 years and came to realize I didn't actually love him. My current boyfriend we've been together for 2 months and I love and would do anything for him. I know he's the one.

I was with a guy almost 2 years and realized the only reason we were still together was because of the sex. I met my current boyfriend a year later and same thing happened, I knew he was the one 2 months in.

You are never too young and it is never too early to get a promise ring. I got one when I was 16. Even though the guy who gave it to me and I didn't work out, I still keep it and wear it. Its special. Don't think too much into it. It is sweet! :)

If I were you I would just look at the ring as a symbol of your relationship and his feelings toward you which is why I assume you love it. I would just enjoy that symbol and not worry about what other people think is an appropriate time for a ring.

If you've been serious from the start it's just to symbolize the promise he's already been fulfilling to you these past 5 months, being faithful to only you. Personally, I think it's a little much to celebrate month anniversaries my boyfriend and I agreed on celebrating yearly. He gave me a promise ring for my 18th birthday and at the time we were together for a year and 10 months already.
