It would depend on a lot of other factors for me. Do I suspect that he has cheated in other ways? Do I trust him? Do I believe this was a one-time thing that wouldn't be repeated? What was the context of his relationship with the girl he was sexting? Does he seem genuinely sorry?

Ultimately what it comes down to is trust. Sometimes people make dumb mistakes, but you can feel in your gut that they're not only apologetic, but unlikely to repeat it. Other times, your intuition is telling you that you don't trust them. If it were the latter, I would seriously consider leaving.

Yea my instincts told me something was not right before I found the texts, when I found them it broke my heart and I guess never repaired.. She still had single tendencies and knew it would not work after that.

Yes, in that case, always follow your gut. Sometimes we can't explain why trust or do not trust somebody. And sometimes we need to get over our own issues/insecurities that have nothing to do with our partner. But if you're following your intuition, it usually won't lead you astray.

That's shady as hell, I would only give a second chance if you feel that you could truly let it go and not worry overtime she's texting someone. If you can't the feelings will slowly eat you from the inside out and it won't be an enjoyable relationship for the both of you. You will begin to resent her.
