I think a real man is someone who's pretty confident of his own value. Doesn't get defensive and doesn't need approval from others. A man who's mostly calm and rarely gets angry. A man who stays faithful to his own principles and doesn't cheat on or lie to his friends. A man who knows how to talk to people around him and show respect to everyone and treat them like equals (the poor and the rich) A man who helps others and doesn't need to bring them down to feel good about himself. I could talk for days describing a real man but i think this's enough for now.

No they're still a man even without those qualities obviously, but to me, lack what a real man should be and so what I said sexy to a fireman picture. Those are the type of people who are respected, who risk their lives to save other people's live. Selfless acts like that is what makes people heroes.

As for the firefighters, I brought that up because without having your question answered you just jumped on the bandwagon. Those men are also paid, and you know nothing of their home life. For all you know, they beat their wives but to you they're still heroes.
