Why is it so hard for me to like someone?

I have only really really liked 3 girls and they didn't feel the same way.

It really frustrates me that it takes so long for me to like someone and when I finally do, I see my chances fade because she's either taken, I'm not her type, or I assume the worse and don't try

I don't know what to do anymore I hate how I am, I'm sick of it

I treat every guy I meet as a friend. No matter if I think they're hot or not, they're my friend. And by doing this, feelings never get in the way. And if something is going to develop, it does. And if not, oh well, they were my friend and they still are. It seems to work well for me. I met my current boyfriend this way and we've been together for over a yr and a half. It's a good way to get to know someone innocently.

I don't know where to meet girls my age besides school, and no one ever talks there. I like your idea though

I agree that it's hard to meet someone at school (assuming you're in college?) in those big lecture halls. I met my boyfriend in a Japanese class where, as in any language class, peer interaction is really encouraged, so that helped us start talking and plus we had the interest in the language in common. The same is true in many communication classes, such as interpersonal communication and group communication (if you have free electives for example, maybe try one of these classes?). It's an old record, but you could also try joining a club or (idk if you're into this) but a fraternity. I wouldn't recommend bars, because I don't drink, and I think alcohol just gets in the way of making important decisions like who you're actually compatible with.

I find it difficult to find someone who i genuinely want to spend time with , and be with. I think it is because I'm very selective. I don't give my heart away so easily. It isn't a bad thing though. I think a lot of people find that when they do eventually find someone they like , their feelings aren't reciprocated. That's why there's so many single people around
