1) Would you announce it on facebook or keep it a secret?

2) If you were to announce it would you list the persons name or keep their name a secret?

3) And lastly what determines whether you'd list the person's name for your relationship announcement or keep them a secret?

Well, I have no reason to keep it secret. And I'm not so private that I don't want people to know the person I'm dating. Unless the person was famous, or unless we wanted to take it very slow, I would wait a few weeks after things became official and just put it on facebook.

If I didn't get on fb a lot, I wouldn't go out of my way to put it on facebook.

But since I get on regularly, I would put it up.

I announce my status after I feel the relationship is successful enough to warrant announcement, and I only do so with my partner's permission. My last relationship status update happened just a couple months before our engagement, so you see I waited until I was absolutely certain he was worth mentioning. I only post my status and who it's with though, all other details are kept clear of social media.

I'd ask the person beforehand but if I was serious about them, I don't mind putting it on Facebook. I've been with my boyfriend for four and a half years and only changed my relationship status about a month ago, and I haven't even tagged him in it because he thinks it's hilarious to not accept my friends request 😋

If I'm serious about the guy then yes. But if we are still figuring out where we are going no because I don't want people to keep track of people that I'm dating. What if we break up... u look like a fool changing that status. I'll change it when I meet the real deal then everybody can know I'm involved.

It's not a big deal to me that people don't wanna do the 'in a relationship' thing with me on facebook but I guess that's cause nobody is ever serious about me. So I suppose it would mean a lot to me for one person to ever say they would want to do that but I wouldn't need to actually make it official, them asking me would be gesture enough.

I guess it's different for everyone, but for me and my boyfriend, we became Facebook official as soon as we decided that we were completely serious about each other. We dated for a while, then we became exclusive, then we dropped the L word, and then we became Facebook official.

I've been with my boyfriend a little while now, but I never made it public on FB. He doesn't have one so people wouldn't even know who he was anyway (that hadn't already met him). Still, I just never felt the need to publicize it on FB. I've made posts that eluded to me dating someone/having a boyfriend, but never outright said it.

It would really depend on how serious a relationship we were in. My ex and I were never Facebook official, but we were together for four months. A similar time period with a different man, I might change my status. Interesting question!
