Have you ever dated a bad texter, how did you deal?

My long distance boyfriend is a terrible texter, some days its good other days we exchange a few texts and that's it. The thing is tho, my boyfriend is not busy, when he is at home he doesn't have his phone near him. He told me he is a bad texter and I have told him to text me more, he said he will try and it has gotten a little better. He notices if take awhile to respond, this is in response to him taking 6 or more hours to respond. I know he is interested, I just got back from visiting him and we were attached at the hip. He loves me and tells me how much he wants me to be in his life. Have you dealt w/someone who loved you, but lacked communication skills? How did you deal? What I have been trying to do is if his response is slow, I try to take even more time to respond back.

Nope. This would be A huge issue for me if I was in a long distance relationship. My boyfriend and I sort of just ended up texting each other every day. We'll say good morning and throughout the day we'll check in with each other. We also work together and see each other a couple times a day. It never ever gets boring.

I don't think there is much you can do if you have expressed now you feel. If he is trying his hardest and this is all be can do, I guess you have to accept this. Try to keep yourself busy with other activities so your mind doesn't wander too much. At least you'll have much more to talk about when you meet up.

I know texting does not equate quality in a relationship. I don't need endless texting everyday cause that would bore me, just at least a few texts a day. We vid chat once a week for a couple of hours and he doesn't rush me off or anything. I just feel disconnected.
