Depends. It isn't for everyone. LDR are great for people who like their independence more than being in a relationship, but don't want to be single either. In general, I think people need that physical connection with their SO which is obviously impossible with a LDR. Therefore it is naive to think a LDR is going to work every time and both partners can remain faithful for an extended period of time.

I find them to be. Unless you already had been together before and had met in person in real life before it's harder to trust and believe in the other person. Make sure you can at least chat in real time with them face to face via a webcam or something such as facetime, because you could be talking to somebody pretending to be who they aren't or pretending to be somebody else.

2 years seems too long for that. I think LDR is fine as long as you have made a plan for who and when you two would move in together, otherwise there is no point.
