Why do men holler at girls/women?

Okay so I'm sure A LOT of girls have experience this by guys younger, older, or in the same age range as them. I wouldn't have posted this if I wasn't fed up with it. I want to know why guys do it? I mean what are the chances you're actually going to get a girl with this method? And this has been happening since I was 10 and it made me REALLY uncomfortable and made me hate my body for a long period of time and made me want to hide any kind of so called...maturity...sorry I don't know how to explain.

Point being that I find it really uncomfortable and I get enough of the attention from African-American males...not that all men don't do this. Okay so on top of everything after you tell them no or fend them off they take it as a blow to their ego and curse you out. I'm 17 and look like the age of 14 so recently this kid asked me for my number and I said "no I'm good" than his boy hit me with a water balloon or something like that while my back was turned...yes please reply because I'd really like to know the answer. Either if you do it or your guy friends.

because they're idiots. let me just clear up, not all guys are idiots just guys that bark at women :) I'm neverrr IMMEDIATELY rude to someone but get someone barking and hollering at me in public and I'll tear up one side and down the other embarrassing the sh*t out of them. if they want to make our conversation public, then so be it;) I don't know what it is that p*sses me off so much about it but in my opinion, anyone who responds positively to sh*t like that has no self-respect. a guy at a party was trying to hit on me and I told him upfront that I wasn't interested but told him I still would hangout and would be friends that it's always fun to make news friends. he came and sat with me and my friends. we all hungout the rest of the night. I wasn't a bitch to him, he didn't bark at me, it wasn't a bad rejection, I didn't get mad and need to be a bitch, it was simple. if only every guy could act like that.

they are disrespectful as hell. I am african american and I hate to talk about my race but them and hispanics are the worst when it comes to hollering at girls. I don't know if white guys do it as much but black guys act like they have the right to disrespect you and invade your space. this has been happening to me since I was like 12 and I hate it. its not a compliment, its really rude and sexist. they wouldn't want anyone to do it to their mom or sister so why is it okay to do it to you? especially if its some old man and a younger girl that is just gross. I just started being really standoffish and I will just roll my eyes or say something mean to them

what makes me mad is these low self esteem dumb broads who think that sh*t is cute. they encourage guys like this and then guys end up doing it more because it worked in the past

Amen.for some reason I get barked at by black guys and hispanics mostly. apparently it's because of my ass?i guess my ass draws attention from the black guys but when I get whistled at and barked at by white guys, they're mostly construction workers or boys who haven't figured out they're white yet.you're exactly right. if they found out their sister or mom was getting barked at they'd flip sh*t. what p*sses me off is when the girls condone the whistling, get raped, and the guy gets away with it

I mean is it not man's nature to be attracted to women, and when we see a women we like compliment her or and try to talk to her andI understand some men take it to the extreme screamin down the block but I can only blame that on their personal experiences with women and how they were brought up and also their own principals and morals. Thats the best way i can explain it. it has nothing to do with skin color or race and more about how the man was brought up and their life experiences. To say that i talk to women more than white men because my skin is black or because i'm Spanish is ignorant in my opinion, white men talk to women to not as much as blacks or Hispanic but the same why because we are all still men.

well actually guys holla at girls if the look sexually attractive. I mean I've done it before but I don't holla I talk. also they could see you as a beautifully, innocent woman and want a piece of you but hey to avoid what you're going through say you have a boyfriend. it always works no doubt

I've never "holla'd" at a girl in my life, but I have acquaintances who will at every pretty girl they see. The men in particular think they're being charismatic, and when they get shot down, they take it personally and the dumb ones seek revenge. There's no great mystery or psychology, just empty people blowing themselves up into large and colorful shapes to draw attention, and exploding violently when they get shot down.
