I tend to be more mature then others my age (seems like everyone here's still stuck in that high school drama mode, and I'm really not a fan of it. ) she's unnaturally small for her age, and is commonly taken for 15-18.

hmm last update I'll write I think, generally when any guy gets close to her she brings up her age as an issue and gently turns them down. she hasn't done that to me yet, and has even gone so far as mentioning that she wants to see inception

I generally only date younger guys. I don't usually pursue younger men. They tend to pursue me. As of right now, I am in a relationship with a guy who is 20 and I am 25. I look my age. He looks his. Age hasn't been an issue between us. But one thing that we have decided to do is not tell our families about us yet. We want to wait a few months and after we see it might be something serious then we will go about telling our folks. Main reason is he comes from a very wealthy family. His father is paying for his college, his apartment... practically, everything. And we both want stay away from their speculations. My mother (the only family member of mine that knows about us) thinks its a phase in my life that will pass.

My advice is to keep a low profile with your parents for a while until you know for sure its something that will last for a while. You may or may not have some obstacles a head of ya'll. Good luck!

it's not a big of deal as it may seem. the age as you guys get older won't seem like such a big deal as it is now. Just date and see how it goes. for her maybe older guys aren't that appealing. or maybe it's something about your personality that she really likes. I usually go by +/-4yrs. guy I'm married to is 6yrs younger than I am..im 28 and I wanna have kids and he is 22 and he doesn't want one for next 3yrs atleast.

My folks werent too happy when they heard he was younger than I am. only because he just graduated while I was working for past 7yrs. they werent sure if he could look after me if I ever quit my job.

don't even think about it, and it'll be fine. It's the 21th century, it all depends on your mutual feelings and planned future. Seems like the girl you're with is serious for choosing someone's like you, this doesn't sounds like children play to me, so don't you care about what others might think, I myself only get along with older girls since I was 11 yo! I can't stand younger girls no matter what, and now wants to marry a woman that is 3 years my senior at least, it's got lots of benefits, sex and love making are some of them. My ex was 18 to my 25, and it was fine with us EXCEPT when I might reminisce about high school and she's say she was still in primary.

But no, once you're an adult (and moreso, both in similar maturity states... for us we were both at university), the age difference is not a big issue. Biggest age gap I've known personally was 12 years for a work collegue (she was older) and they've been together for 23 years.

The only conflict would most likely be how other people would react to them - If you don't really care about what other thinks about it or if it's generally accepted I see no problem at all :)

Firstly it depends on what the two people involved think about the relationship, and secondly how well you both get on mentally and physically and if it became long term thing would you the age gap ever bother either of you? Personally if I was 26 I wouldn't go out with a 20year old guy! If I woz thirty I would go out with a 25year old, that's just me!

That's not a big age gap. It might be a big maturity gap, and that's what really decides these things.

Age isn't the issue, maturity is. That's what it comes down to. If both of you are mature enough for the relationship, then it will be fine.

I think it is because 20 are likely going to school hanging out with high school friends who just graduated and still high schooler themselves while 26 have career, move out and working full time and do adult activities. They could be 6 years apart which is nothing to adult world but is very big for child. 26 and 20 are likely in a complete different stage of like while 20 are still teenager technically and hasn't experienced adult world really and 26 are young adult and become fully mature. They can be friends but im saying don't date and have them surrounded by group of 24-28 years old for no reason they may want to be around 16-20 years old friends instead

I have a 45 year old uncle whos been dating an 18 year old for 6 years now. (She was 18 when they met now 24). And they have been able to make it work. People give him being crap about them being together sometimes but don't let anyone else tell you whos right for you. Age is just a number.

I was more worried about if it would cause her any stress. if it had a high enough potential to cause her enough problems I'd walk away for her for her sake. it can cause me all the problems it wants.
