Why is my boyfriend not telling family we are together?

Me & my boyfriend have been together 3 1/2 years & we own a house together, we recently separated for 2 weeks because he didn't want to be in a relationship anymore. Anyway I don't understand why he won't tell his family we are back together, we have been back together for 4 1/2 weeks & I am living back at the house. I don't understand why he won't tell them? he sees them most days so his had plenty of chances. He told me the other day that he had told them but I found out through a friend that he hasn't. I asked him a couple of weeks ago why & he said he didn't want them asking him about what's going on, but surely all he has to say is everything is back on. His told most his mates so why not his family?

This is not a good sign, and not acceptable behaviour either. The fact that he won't tell his family its back on means that 1. the family was happy about the breakup, and he's scared to tell them he got back with you, or 2. He really hasn't decided its back on with you.

I know this is all harsh, but I would leave him, because he isn't treating you with respect/ this situation with maturity - you deserve better than that.

is it possible his parents had something to do with the breakup in the first place? if he isn't telling his parents and won't tell you why, maybe you can take it into ur own hands. for example, invite them over for dinner, tea, etc. or tell ur boyfriend to have his parents over which may force him to tell them or at least tell you what is taking him so long.

It is possible they influenced him into his decision, they weren't very keen on me - well his mother. Think she always thought I took her son away, because he moved out & moved in with me. She's always been a bit off with me.

In that case I think he isn't telling them possible because he is tired of his parents bothering him about you (they probably tell him ur no good...etc..) so I guess you have to decide how important it is to you that his parents know

Because maybe he's not sure if he wants to still stay with you. maybe he can't make up his mind , but still I think he should still tell his parents.
