What do women think of men who smoke the cigars? What do guys think of women who smoke cigars?

I know many people, both men, and women, detest smoking cigarettes, but what about cigars? Do you think all smoking is a major turn-off or do you think cigars are fine?

(I personally smoke cigars regularly but I would be fine cutting back if it were a turn-off to my partner. I wouldn't quit completely though. I enjoy it.)

As a woman, have you ever tried a cigar or have the occasional cigar? As a man, do you have a fascination with women who smoke cigars?

I don't have a high view of cigars, but in my head it could never be sexy as it is something my dad smokes and has since I was a kid... He wasn't a nice person, especially when drinking and smoking... and knowing the feeling of one being put out on skin, I can't really see them as anything than neutral at best...

Smoking is a major turnoff to me. People who smoke tend to be under the impression they look cool , but they don't at all.

I hate the smell of stale smoke that clings to people's hair, skin and clothes. They don't realise how disgusting they smell.

Its not the actual smoking thats a turn off its the fact it makes the person stink and when you kiss them they taste rank. So cigars are just as bad because they're much of the same

I always keep tons of mints. I would never kiss my woman with a cigar mouth. The main problem is how a cigar dries out the mouth (besides the taste). I never had a complaint when it came to kissing.

Not really, at least to me. You can't taste the scotch whiskey while smoking a cigar 😅. The flavors just get mixed up. If you have a quality single malt, you don't want to spoil it by smoking a cigar.

Yeah, I usually only see women smoking cigars when they are drinking or at a wine tasting. I was taken aback when I saw these two gorgeous 20 somethings buying some high priced cigars at the smoke stand. I was oddly fascinated. Me Gusta.

In my family, the men occasionally go outside and smoke cigars and talk and the women stay inside in the kitchen and talk. It's not an everyday occurrence though. I can handle that. Cigarettes though, no.

Yeah, I don't do it to look cool. If anything I think they look weird, especially big ones sticking out of the mouth. I like the flavor and it also relaxing. I tend to like to clear my head, meditate out in nature, smoke a cigar, watch the smoke flow in ribbons, enjoy the flavors, etc.

It is an acquired taste. Like whiskey. Some hate it, others can pull out the notes of vanilla, caramel, spice, and some fruits.

I don't smoke for my own health. (Asthma) but oddly enough I have always dated smokers. It has never bothered me if I have a partner who smokes.

Do you partners try not to smoke around you or keep it outside? Did they ever take extra steps to freshen up with mints or fragrances?

I always found that the sillage of cigar smoke to be more spicy and leathery, almost like a very dark incense. That is very different from the rank odor of cigarettes.

Generally, it is outside. Mainly because of the smell getting into furniture. (It's funny how even smokers don't like the smell of smoke in furniture and curtains lol 😂) . I don't think I would have a problem with cigars inside. I can usually handle being around a smoker, ( it's not like they will blow smoke in my face lol 😂) and if it gets to much I will usually excuse myself or give myself some breathing room.

Would you consider dating a man who smokes cigars, just not around you? I tend to freshen up after a cigar, usually with a good cologne, which layers up the leathery aroma of the cigar with the spiciness of the frag.

A little bit of class, a little bit of that everyman style. I like a cigar while I am enjoying nature, but I also like a cigar when I am drinking a glass of fine whiskey.

As for the freshening up part, I always carry mints, no matter if I am smoking or not. I have a odd addiction to mints too. haha! I like spearmint, fruity, strong, and weak mints and keep like several packs of different kinds. Dential hygiene and whitening is also a must regardless of smoking habits.

To me, cigarettes are a different beast. Cigars are dank and are very pungent, but cigarettes are like a sharp hit to the nose. I used to smoke cigarettes, but now I find them pretty gross. Odd to say that since I do like cigars and pipe smoking.

Lots of women I know think the pipe tobacco smells sweet and fragrant. I tend to smoke outdoors though, regardless.

I also know a few women who hate full sized cigars, but love flavored cigarillos, or will only smoke them when they drink.

Anything other people enjoy will be glamorized. That is just the facts of life. I could have put stock photos of regular everyday people smoking cigars, but stock photos still have that glamour.

I highly doubt glamorization or advertisement is going to change people's preferences.

I respect your dislike for cigars and alcohol. That is fine. I quit alcohol for 4 months for dieting reasons and plan on doing so for another year and a half.

Everyone has their vices and things they enjoy. I say everything in moderation, except for maybe the really hard drugs.

Hey, if it works for you, that is cool. I just ENJOY cigars. No one convinced me that it was enjoyable. You can also look down on those who do enjoy things you abstain from, but that doesn't mean other people will respect you're holier than thou attitude, atheist or not.

I advocate "moderation" over "abstinence" because frankly, people are going to do what they want. I believe in balance. It is more realistic. And most importantly, it doesn't judge others for their preferences. On the other hand, anything, whether it is food, sex, drugs, smoking, porn, gambling, anything can be overdone. There are extremes to everything.

For example, I am hardened with my diet right now. It makes some people uncomfortable because they like to take it easy while I count calories and have to watch where I eat and what I eat. But that is MY choice and that is THEIR choice. I can't expect them to accommodate me, but they can't expect me to go off my path.
