Did I say "I love you" too soon?

Ok... so here's he thing. I met a guy online and we were texting nonstop. We know so much from each other and have lots in common. Similar tastes, way of thinking, pet leeves, kinks, and so on. From a good morning to a good night we were always together (via text). He lives in the US while I'm in Puerto Rico, so I didn't have any kind of communication with him for over 3 weeks. After that I texted saying I'm safe. He replies and everything goes back to normal. I text him whenever I can and he replies without hesitation. I told him that I wanted to know how he felt about me. He said something along the lines "I care for you deeply and have very strong feelings towards you". So I was like... Yey. And after 2 weeks I said "Love you, goodnight." He said "I know". Like... for real? I ignored it since he shows he cares in other ways, but about 3 nights ago I said "Love you. Take care." He read it but hasn't responded at all. Maybe I'm just freaking out over nothing... or maybe he freaked out. Did I use the L word too soon?

He doesn't feel comfortable saying it for whatever reason. "I love you" is a tricky term for a lot of men (women too). When it comes to dating, my rule-of-thumb is pay attention to their actions. Who cares what they say? When they're ready, they'll tell you they love you. In the meantime, I'd slow down a tad. Sounds like most of your communication is via text, which to me is not really enough

Men are like that... they mean it. Just saying is not their way. They will make you feel. If you feel it its worth it. Nothing more nothing less

I've known him for a bit more that 3 months.
We didn't know from each other for 3 weeks in between cause of the hurricane.

How can you know you love him if you've never met? Either way, that's a quick time to come out saying I love you

Yeah, maybe. The three week down time was probably a really awkward time for him, and he may still be feeling a little ignored. But your feelings are reciprocated, so you don't have to worry too much.

Men don't care about saying "I love you", men care about actually showing/seeing love. You worry too much about a small thing.

Maybe he wants a near distance relation. And i think you said it too soon too. Plus. Becareful of those you meet online. Just for safety.
