Why is my boyfriend so weird?

I have been with my boyfriend for nine months now and I only see him maybe twice a month. he is busy with work and his kids so its hard for us to get together. He will not introduce me to his daughter and I just find this odd. I have asked him many times why he won't let me meet her and he always has an excuse. I don't think he wants me for just sex because we don't have sex every time we see each other. I just don't understand what his deal is or what he wants in our relationship?

Many people won't introduce their SO to their kids until they are really sure that the relationship is going to be very serious. Some won't introduce their kids until they feel the relationship will lead to marriage. If he hasn't been divorced long or the kids are very sensitive or think mom & dad will get back together then its best not to introduce them early on. You should respect that because good dads are rare. It might be good to talk with him about when he would allow his kids to meet you so that you understand. Never try to come between him and the kids - it will backfire. They are his number one priority and that is the way it should be. Instead of coming at him as if the children are your competition you have to talk him with respect for his commitment to his children.

On the flip side it is hard to date a man who is very busy with work and kids. The best thing is to have good open communication and set dates. If you can't handle it then you may have to back off for a while and see if he makes changes to try to give you more time in his life.

As often is the case, you may be 2nd fiddle to his kids. This can often be difficult to live with. He may also be reluctant to introduce you to his daughter because he is concerned about her reaction to another woman other than her mother.

You are convenient for him. You need to think about this. Nobody gets 100% of what they want out of a relationship, but in this case you may get a lot less than you can live with.
