If he didn't love me..why did he stay with me so long?

My ex and I were together for a year, he broke up with me 3 months ago because he "didn't need a relationship." We did stay friends after the break up and he told me that he did love me but the feeling changed to something different through the course of our relationship.

I was talking to one of his guy friends last night and he told me that my ex had said he was never that inspired by me (my ex is a writer) He said he wrote a million things about his exes, but not about me. So why did he stay so long? If I was the only one who had strong feelings.

He still acts protective over me, but I would say this is a good indication that it is really really over?

Guys can get comfortable in a relationship just like girls. We might be staying with that person because we like them and its easy but we may not love them.

From the way your asking it sounds like your not really over him yet and seeing him is not going to do you any favours.

The fact that he is still protective over you shows that he really does care for you but maybe just not in the way that youve hoped.

I can tell you now thou that "he didn't need a relationship" is stupid and cliche. you should have seen that for what it was when he said it. Nobody needs a relationship, they want them!

Regardless of what is going on in your life, if you want to be with someone then you will try your hardest to get what you want. I think he might have just been trying to let you down easy but at least he wasn't cruel about it.

To sum up your question thou, yes if he is still protective over you but doesn't show signs of jelously then that's a clear sign that its over and he really is just looking out for your best interests.

He lied or ended up growing out of love. Just try not to think about it, whatever his friends had said because the truth is, you don't know it in full detail. I suggest you just move on, because he isn't really worth it and that he shouldn't have treated you this way whether he really does have feelings, still has feelings or lied all along.

Hey stayed for the Free sex when ever you called you was availble to him that what they do... I was with a jerk like that on and off for 4yrs. and I asked why did he stay so long He said sex.
