Whenever I go out with my friends or family my boyfriend always asks me when I'll be home?

I went out with my friend a couple of weeks ago and I was out for an hour while the dogs were at home. My boyfriend text me twice within that hour asking when i'll be home and that the dogs wee'd on the bed. Another time I was in town shopping and went out for lunch with my mum. The first time he text me asking when i'll be home, I said I don't know, then the second time an hour later he asked again and I still said I don't know.

It's like he wants me to stay at home all the time and it's annoying. What do you think?

My SO did this at the start of our relationship. I sat down with him and asked him what his reason was for wanting such a specific time line. He didn't really have a reason except that it made him feel a little insecure. I told him that I would give him a time when I did know, but on those times that I didn't know, he would have to be respectful and not send me a million messages. I also agreed to text him when I was on my way home. That made him feel better. He has since stopped even asking
