she shouldn't get mad since you only suggested her to do squats, she got it easy in my opinion. if it was me i'd be like "IDC, IF YOU'RE GONNA START, THEN YOU GOTTA DO EVERYTHING!!!", from front bar, low bar, high bar squats, to romanian, stiff leg, sumo, and conventional deadlifts, to bench press, have her learn every single exercise and i'd probably end up making her a 2 month program and routine to follow lols.
Why would you say squats if you want her to have an ass? You should try and get her to do hip thrust. Not that squats won't help, they just focus more on the quads.

I know my body well, and I would just be lazy not listening to him. If he tells me to do squats, I'll act so lazy and he has to force me to get me in good shape XD and I keep avoiding it cuz I'm lazy XD. and if he doesn't tell me to get fit I'll be like "wtf is he doing looking at me? "
It's like you're saying "I don't like your ass how it is now, change it"... like I don't know, I'd do squats and get a bit upset too because it'd be like I'm not good enough for him.

But a butt is something you could improve on so why not improve if you could
It's like if your girlfriend said "hey if you're going to the gym why not work on your abs", like I'm sure you'd be happy to to make her happy but there'd be a bit of sadness that she might not completely like your abs as they are already
I get what you mean but I don't take offense to suggestions. I have a six pack but thin arms. If she said you should work more on your arms I wouldn't mind.
@softrosie You know, there is a really easy solution to this. Asking her "well, what were you planning on working out? Where do you think you could improve your looks?" She obviously can see that her butt is flat, that's why she wants to go to the gym. I don't know why it's an issue to say it outloud.
And I wouldn't mind if you told me to work on my abs, but I would tell you that that's stupid, working on abs is useless, only a good diet gives you abs.

If I suggest to my girlfriend to do anything then it's ultimately because it's something that I think will be good for her first. I do encourage my girlfriend to work out, and at the end of the day it benefits her more than me.

Yeah that could easily be taken as an insult. Doing squats is part of working out, it's not something that needs to be specified. By specifically saying "you should squat" that's basically flat out saying "you need a better booty"
After baby, I did squats, calf raises, leg presses, and leg curls to get my lower body toned up again. I need to do more core to get rid of leftover tummy flab

That's fine I would appreciate her imput and try to improve it if reasonable. Working on your body benefits the both of you. If she said something like fix your face 😕 then I wouldn't be able to do anything about that.
