Do you prefer to love someone? or being loved by someone?

This question is very complicated.. Loving someone is difficult as you might not get the same response from the other party.. On the other hand, it seems to be selfish if you choose to being love instead.. so what do you think?

I prefer to give love. I used to want to feel loved; but I soon realized that love can go either direction (north or south; good or bad; yin or yang..) and as such I made it my goal to love those in my immediate circle of friends and my relationships with my family or my S/O.. Since that realization I made it my goal to give myself every emotional fulfillment I can because I came across a concept:

If you aren't fulfilling your own emotional needs, and someone gives you a compliment, the compliment will feel good temporarily; however, when that person leaves and/or feels differently about you then you will reflect that negative feeling as well. Almost as if the compliment benefits you for a temporary state of esteem.

- BUT if you ARE fulfilling your own emotional needs, and someone gives you a compliment, the compliment will feel good temporarily; and should they leave, you will already be complete and you won't go into stressful/depressive mindsets as frequently as when you were not fulfilling your own needs.

That concept has proven true for me this far and it's really helped. Though it's infinitely more comforting to know someone loves you.

Both feel really good. I think loving feels a lot better but I prefer to be loved for the same reasons you listed. Anyways, you should always remmember that the person who loves the least is the person who controls the relationship and, in case of a break up, would end up less broken hearted.

yeah I agreed, normally the one who loves the relationship more will get hurt the most.. can I just throw in another scenario for you ? if now got 2 gals, A & B. gal A is the one you love, but you don't know about her feelings for you. maybe you are just attracted by her as she is your type.. then gal B is the gal that have feelings for you, but not as strong as yours compared to her, maybe you 2 are very good fren which can talk to each other. so what will you choose? love someone? or being love ?

I wouldn't settle for gal B just because I'm sure she loves me. I would go for my mayor goal and try to get the one who I love the most. So if gal A is the one who you love more then gor for that. You don't want to be in a relationship with B and asking "what if" when thinking about A. In this case I would take a risk and try to fulfill my happiness.

To feel loved is a basic need for everyone. For me it is extremely important to know that there is someone who loves me, someone who cares about me. If I didn't have my family, my friends or my boyfriend I would feel all alone and miserable.

On the other hand loving someone and getting the opportunity to show that love is amazing

for the case of being love right, maybe you don't have the feelings for him now, but doesn't mean you never will right? no one knows what will happen in the future.. maybe one day you will get touched by his sincerity.. loving someone is great, but it is really difficult.. and rejection definately hurts...
