Do you judge people who have an "UGLY" partner?

I put "ugly" in quotation marks because that word is highly subjective
I hear people complain how decent looking guys are dating average or even below average looking women and saying that they're betas who gave up on looking for the prettiest woman, but I have a problem with that. I actually prefer the weird, awkward quiet girl who's not bad looking but never been given a chance for a relationship, because I feel like those women would value the relationship more since they know how hard it was to get in one. Plus, some of the most attractive women I've met were horrible girlfriends. They felt entitled to everything under the sun, they would be very abusive to their boyfriends and even cheat on him and even trade up for a better partner because they thought relationships were that disposable because they knew that they could just replace him with abother thirsty guy because they're all in her contacts.

This is a great question. I will be honest and say that I do. Like, my best friend recently got a girlfriend and when I saw him post pictures on Facebook, I was initially shocked.

My best friend used to be 350 lbs, but he worked out hard and now he is a cool 175 lbs. His girlfriend is very large and looks like how he used to look when he was 350 lbs. So, initially, I was shocked when I saw what his girlfriend looked like. However, at the end of the day, if he is happy, I am happy for him.

I know that people tend to judge a lot, especially on social media. That's why I don't post pictures of my girlfriend and I on social media or share images of her online like other people do. I am not embarrassed of my girlfriend at all. I just don't want people judging her or our relationship, because it's none of their business.

I often see a lot of couples fighting about social media, saying things like, "you never post me on social media." Well, personally, I think that it's smart for couples to remain private about their love life online. Nobody needs to have a say in your relationship or who you choose to love.

I don't say anything loud, but I may think inside me: "Why are some hot people dating unattractive people if they're not a gold digger and how do sexual attraction work?". For me it's more like curiosity and not a thing I would do myself rather than being against their choice. I actually support their right to choose. The only thing I may be extremely uncomfortable with is a huge age gap. A 20 years old dating an 80 years isn't pedophilia, but they're of different generations with different mindsets. An 80 years old also smells different than a 20 years old.

No, if they like that person then they like that person. But I can see why guys say that cause what you just kinda proves that. You're settling for the weird, awkward quiet girl not because you really like her, but because you're worried about getting burned by another attractive girl and don't want to have to meet their expectations. A lot of guys do this all the time, they go for the 9/10's and if it doesn't work out or he gets rejected to often, then they consider lowering their options to avoid getting hurt or rejected again not necessarily cause they want to. Given the chance, if you didn't have to worry about getting hurt or rejected by women you find extremely attracted, I don't think you would look twice at the weird, ackward, quiet girl aka "ugly/unattractive".

Most of the time I don't judge, but if the person is abusive to them (mental or physical), or has tons of money either which way it makes me question things. Like if a girl is in her 30s dating a 60 year old can't keep a job/doesn't want to or other way around gender wise or any age you gotta question things and their motives especially if the person is close to you. So I wouldn't call it judging per say just curiosity.

And I agree with you 100% on the 'average' people vs 'non average'. Average actually build up personalities and focus on other things rather than looks. (I've seen some really vain people in either category though so its a coin toss) lol

I'd make a judgement, but I wouldn't "judge." I use the term judgement in terms of making a judgement call or assessment. That assessment being... they're dating because the guy or girl sees something in their partner that I may or may not see yet. It's worth it to them to be in this relationship no matter what others may think.

In a weird way this is why I like to say I don't want my girlfriend to "need" me. I'm single but I like describing my "dream girl" if you will, as someone who doesn't need me, but who chooses to be with me because they want to be with me. If she's attractive and is with me anyways when i know good and well there are more attractive "options" I know she is likely with me for the right reasons... because I'm most certainly not rich enough for her to be with me for anything other than my personality xD

I am sort of with you on the quiet awkward girl who has some redeeming physical qualities.
Because they tend to have a more developed character, less sexual partners, and are mysterious

However, i do find those uglier girls to have so many insecurities around their image they are annoying and just plain ridiculous at times

The best women are the super hot ones. Who understand every women hates them for being significantly more attractive, so they don't try to meet any expectation or idea. They just are who they are.

I totally understand where you are coming from. I would do the same but with a guy. I don’t honestly care about how someone looks as long as they have a great personality, smart, dedicated, and can keep convos interesting.

I live in a very wealthy part of California and at my work I see some of the “ugliest” men with the most beautiful women, or the other way around. Sometimes I think they are gold diggers (some probably are), but when I talk to them they seem really happy (most of the time) with each other and that is what I want :)

Like what else makes them attractive, you know? What skills or traits do that have aside from looks that sets them apart from others.

no, who cares? and why do you assume most attractive girls are entitled and cocky? most girls men consider "attractive" are just average with great makeup skills. it gets to their head, hence the cockiness. a girl who is naturally beautiful is not asked out often enough because men are "intimidated" or they think like you. hence she has low self-esteem and most likely considers herself unattractive.

I don’t judge them, but I do question how that came about on some occasions. In certain situations it appears obvious they don’t really love each other and are just together to use each other. But other times the answer is simply that they legitimately care for each other, and even find the “ugly” partner attractive. You know what they say there’s no accounting for taste.

Nobody, myself included, is in a position to make generalizations about someone because of how attractive they think their partner is. It's ridiculous, in my opinion, to think that ALL 'ugly' people or all 'attractive' people are a certain way. There are way too many factors at play outside of their appearance.
