So in the beginning of our relationship he was very jealous and territorial. It took us quite a bit to establish boundaries and "meet eachother half way" when it came to a lot of things. We worked past it and our relationship has been great since that point. Well, up until about a month ago that is.
So a little backstory because I know it will be asked; no, there has never been any cheating or disrespect from either one of us that caused the behavior; though I am willing to admit that before him and I started dating, we both had quite a few people trying to hook up with us. Which was the main reason he became so jealous in the beginning (so he says).
Anyways, about a month ago he was having a bad day and knowing how he is, I invited over a few friends to hang out with him and cheer him up. He has always enjoyed hanging out with people when upset or angry. So I figured it would be fine. Along with 2 others, I invited over my friend Eric. My boyfriend always said he wanted to meet him and Eric had the day off, so it worked. Well, as soon as I told him who I invited over he freaked out and said that I probably fucked Eric in the past and I am simply lying about it to him because I wanted to hang out. That's not true, at all. I never slept with Eric and our relationship was strictly platonic. He also made a comment that went along the lines of "I dont know why you would assume I would want to hang out with anyone when I am pissed off". But, like I said, for 3 years he has always wanted to hang out with people when he is angry so naturally, I just assumed.
After he became angry with me he left and went to hang out with some guy over an hour away. We talked about it and he swears up and down that he has no problem with Eric and that he was just having a bad day. But now, when I even mention Eric he gets this really nasty look on his face, though he won't say anything. Thoughts?
