Why does my boyfriend not get jealous of me or make it obvious but was clearly possessive over his ex?

My boyfriend doesn’t show his jealousy or traits of this when with me but when discussing his ex it was clear that he was very jealous of her as he would try to tell her to not speak to certain people or get jealous when guys spoke to her he said it was because she was young and stupid so he tried guiding her correctly but at the same time said she was a bit showy (nice physique etc in his own words) the thing is I’m not a ugly girl but she could be better than me or maybe I feel this way cause of the way he worded her. He has no connection with her at the moment but just the idea that he was like that with her and this way with me … why could this be and what can it mean

So I don't know about guys but my first serious relationship we were both VERY jealous and the relationship got sooo exhausting… ended pretty bad… when I finally decided to move on I made a mental choice I’m not gonna do that again… I start feeling jealous I keep it to myself… if a person is gonna leave you they are going to leave you there’s nothing you can do to stop it… so choose to trust until your given a sure reason not too… maybe he’s trying things different this time

Yes I did because for what I am aware of the guy is head over heels for a female he automatically gets jealous at the fact that this was the case with the ex partner just makes me feel like he possibly is less interested in me or maybe less attracted even though he doesn’t act this way but just thought of this what annoys me what do you say that I’m in The wrong and exaggerated
