Girls, Girlfriend only wants to see each other every two weeks, but wants to increase the time we talk and text?

My girlfriend wants to only see each other once every two weeks in-person ("... to make it more special when we do see each other...") and wants to increase the amount of time we talk and text. Thing is, we have only been seeing each other in-person once a week for several hours that day each week due to our schedules. Isn't that enough time for it to be special each time?

We adore each other, so why? I'm hurt by this and would like outside perspective. I know its not her being malicious, and she's approaching this with (to her mind) the best of intentions, but I just don't understand at the same time. I'm deeply, deeply hurt at the thought of not seeing her for two weeks at a time. My mind almost starts whispering "She doesn't actually care about you as much as she thinks she does" Only once a week was already extremely tough as I'm someone that likes to spend time with my significant other (I'm not clingy though, just to nip that in the bud).

Some outside perspective would be great.

When I am with someone and want to be with them I want to be with them any time I can. Once every 2 weeks wouldn’t be enough for me. If it was me I would be worried that they were distancing themselves from me, time spent with someone is always going to be special whether it’s once every week or every 2 weeks so I don’t really understand her argument about it being more ‘special’

I don't know I am like you I like to spend a lot of time with my SO. However not seeing each other does make it more special when you do spend time together. I suggest communicating with her and telling her how you feel about her perspective.
