They can. I literally have a childhood guy friend, I’ve known him half of my life and there were never romantic feelings between us. We dated different people and he’s totally not my type or person that I would be ever attracted to. If you can’t stay friends with the opposite sex, doesn’t mean that other people can’t too. Lmao

Just because you haven't thought about it and don't feel that way towards him doesn't mean he doesn't feel those things towards you. That's a one-sided friendship.
You can't deny the fact that people get uneasy when their significant others have friends of the opposite sex. Would you really want your man hanging out with another girl because they're just friends? Do you really believe any guy is going to let his woman hang out with another guy because they're just friends?
