But yeah, I had a crossword today and the answer to Capital of Portugal was PEE. WTF?
Portugal's main exports used to be the products derived from urine
Urea
Chloride
Sodium
Potassium
Creatinine
The most coveted urine was collected from the courtesans of Lisbon and sold to the royalty throughout Europe and Asia. It was served as an aphrodisiac and health elixir for much of the 1600s. Due to the diet of the most attractive women in Lisbon their pee had the most delicious flavor and was considered a royal delicacy. Many men travel to Lisbon today to savor the delicate flavor of their pee.
You're kidding, right?
Does "capital" have another meaning here?
Exactly how was it spelled? Capital means the place/city. Capitol means the capitol building
But the capital of Portugal is Lisbon.
Capital can also mean money/source of income
Before being converted to the Euro Portugal's currency was the Portuguese Escudos
OH! That has to be an oldass crossword then
does that fit the answer in the crossword?
Is the abbreviation for Portuguese Escudos PEE?
That is what I assume but I was unable to confirm it on theee interweebs.
I also thought that the last E might refer to exchange or Euro. It seems like a shit clue for a crossword unless the answer has enough other letters in it already due to other answers that cross through it
Some of those clues make no sense
Do you have access to the crossword? I think it was in the recent Los Angeles Times
