Girlfriend won’t give me space?

Just a question for the girls.
Would you find it unreasonable/rude that im asking my girlfriend to give me and my friends some space while we hang out in our small unit. I suggested she spend some time at her parents house (just for a few hours)
Not that I don’t want her around it’s just I’d like some time just me and the boys for once since she never really leaves the unit.

In the past I’ve done this for her without her even asking just so they can catch up.

It is reasonable to ask for space as you need to live your life too..
It is advisable to not be too enmeshed in a romantic relationship, because if you start spending your entire day with your girlfriend you are also beginning to define your life through her and that won't be helpful after a certain point. I don't want to jinx it but if you ever separate, it will be very hard to move on if all you did was spend time with her.
You could simply ask her some time, or you could tell her you are busy. Or simply tell her that she is an important part of your life but there are other important things too, things that you need to invest time in.

I do this a lot and I’m an introvert but homebody totally. I go to the movies and etc by myself. COVID 19 changes things so I just hang out in the back yard in my little place and read a book.

That’s kind of what I was hoping for. But she finds that it’s unreasonable I ask that of her. What will happen is we will be sitting and chatting while she sits between us not really contributing to the conversation and just watching tv
I’m sure most women realise that men are somewhat of a different person when they are around there friends

I can’t stand being around someone like that because we all need our space. I am even going to take trips to Colorado snow cabins for me time. Just to give us some space

I know I will definitely get a response which suggests that I’m embarrassed by her presence. Which isn’t the case.
I would just feel more comfortable having some alone time with old friends

What you could suggest is hosting a group party next weekend involving everyone. Make it so you are offering her something too.

She could be insecure or an over thinker. And when she’s not with you guys she could get thoughts like what are they doing, what are they talking about, what are they “showing” my man, are they setting him up for someone else. It sounds crazy but there are MANY girls who think like this. My sister is one of them 🤣🤷‍♀️

Yeah I understand that as a possible reason. Is it rude of me to ask her to not be there?

A better way to do it is, here, I got you a gift card, go shopping or something she truly enjoys doing where it will give you time to hang out with your friends. It could be as simple as her wanting to spend 24/7 with you. If that’s the case than tell you hey, I’m gonna talk to my friends for a bit, I’ll be back, but when I get back we can watch a movie. Make her feel included afterwards.

Possibly. Maybe just the fact we live together now I wasn’t used to being around her 24/7. Wasn’t really prepared for this scenario lol
