Women, answer this: is it true that the best relationships between people of different sexes are when (i) there is no sex involved (ii) no romance?

I feel that women treat men well as long as they don't feel the men are dependent on them. Once they know you need them (or their bodies), or their emotional support, they start throwing their weight around.
Can this be called the 'relationship paradox'?
Do you feel this is true?
If true, does it mean that the only way we can stay in good connection across the genders is by not getting too close to each other?
I've found my best relationships with women is when no sex or romance is involved...
