What do you do when you hate pets but your partner loves them?

My friend met this great guy some time ago, she is really into him and he is undoubtedly fond of her too.
Problem now is she just discovered that he is a dog person while my friend doesn't do so well with pets. ( i even lock up my cat whenever she visits).

She is feeling really down because she doesn't get interested in people easily.
How do i help?

You can't. I won't date anyone who doesn't like my dog. It's really hard for her to not like you. Pretty much if you pet her, she loved you. Playing with her or giving her treats also works. I do all three (walking counts as playing for her).

It's possible you don't have a relationship with your pets and that's why it's easy to hate them. You haven't formed a bond
