What is your opinion about people who stay with an abusive partner?

The abuse can be anything, from physical abuse to financial abuse to mental abuse.

I feel sorry for them, I don’t judge or have an opinion because I know the mechanisms behind them staying. They’re broken down mentally, confidence and self esteem gone, isolated from loved ones, brainwashed, manipulated into believing it’s all their own fault, threathened directly or indirectly about what’ll happen to them and/or their kids/family if they leave and they trauma bond. Brainwashing and manipulation is a real thing, and so is trauma bonding. It’s highly toxic and extremely dangerous.

It’s really hard, I spent 8 years at as a volunteer at a counselling centre, we did loads of various stuff.

Satans minions, narcissits, sociopaths, psychopaths, a masters of manipulation they'll break their new supply, very demeaning things will be said & done, their spirit will be broken, this is part of the reason as to why but there are so many other variables

Breaking the hold an abuser has on anyone is damn hard. When the person that is being abused is ready to leave they will. I think anyone that stays isn’t ready yet. You can’t force them to.
