What are the signs of temporary people?

Be it a best friend or a partner, how can you know that they're only temporary and will leave as soon as the better opportunity comes?

People who don't seem interested in you i. e. they are happy to talk about, and answer questions about themselves, but can't be bothered to try and learn anything about you unless you offer it. The ones who you have to carry the conversation for, otherwise they have nothing to talk about.

Basically anyone who doesn't have a similar level of interest in you as you do in them.

Exactly. What if they keep on asking to talk and talk but they won't say much.

if they leave you from time to time without telling you such as hanging out with his boys or something.

yeah flakiness and they don't intiate calling you ip to hang out but you have to call them up. and its only sometimes tat you manage to get them to agree to hang out. Talking from experience here lol

Nice but in my case my friend doesn't trust anyone except me, but sometimes I feel that he doesn't really care and just wants to fill the void in his life. He talks like a hypocrite "I didn't thought to call because I will disturb your sleep" but on the other days he won't hesitate to call me after 12 am when I'm already asleep, I strongly think that he calls and remembers me ACCORDING TO HIS MOODS AND NEEDS.

hmmm that maybe... i don't know if thats enough to call this temporary though. although he might be taking your generosity for granted. have you ever expressed how you feel? maybe he would be more respectful of your time if he understood your feelings?

When he had night shift he called even after 1 am. He forgot to wish me at 12 am on my birthday when on other days I lended my ear or was just silent till late nights because he won't let me hang up in order to feel that someone is there for him... Howcome only during my birthday he gave this EXCUSE that "I thought you were sleeping and didn't wanted to disturb you ". I felt this as manipulative especially when he wished his cheating exes at 12 am.

i hear you, im not sure if he's doing this on purpose though. i don't see enough that would lead me to believe that. just sounds like he's unaware of how he's treating you.

so i would just bring it up, talk to him about it and if he changes his behavior good, if not then yeah i guess you can just leave this friendship behind

He even judged me for having an attitude and when I asked him "when did I do this?" He said a long time ago and only one time for a trivial internet facts (ironically he behaved with me exactly in the same way MORE, but he got offended if I just did it casually for one time"). Also when I was telling him that how I used to be pure by heart when I was 14-15 and how one girl exploited me, he said that "I don't think you are pure by heart"... IMAGINE A PERSON who you give your time to is MAKING ASSUMPTIONS and being judgmental about you!

yeah thats pretty bad... welp i guess its your choice here. stay and get taken advantage of or leave and force him to realize he was wrong in treating you poorly

Yeah already left and he used to say these things randomly and will dilute the situation after sometime... so yeah I left. My other best friend was awake specially for my birthday even though we didn't talked regularly so you're right this one took me for granted.

That's why I felt that he only keeps me because he isn't comfortable with others. So only acts according to his needs.

I have cut him off many times in past before due to reasons like he wanted to have naughty conversations, or I felt he wasn't genuinely listening to me but then he'll try for months and will say he won't do it and yes he actually didn't repeated it. He said how miserable he was so I felt bad and gave him one last chance WHICH HE LOST NOW.
