Guy at work with a girlfriend is the biggest flirt. He says he's not flirting when confronted but also says his girlfriend knows he's a flirt but its ok because they trust each other.

I'm the type that likes to flirt. I don't do it for attention or because I want a relationship. I don't cheat on my girlfriend's. I do it because my day job is boring otherwise. It's just to have fun.

That being said, there are different types of flirting. Mostly what I do is known as "polite" or "friendly" flirting. It's not the overt or physical type.

My girlfriend knows I do it. It's how I met her. She sees me do it with other women, but she also knows me well enough to notice when I change my flirting type. I'm much more overtly flirtatious with my girlfriend than other women.

My girlfriend and I have talked about boundaries and what is acceptable and what is not. I don't cross those with other women. She sees me talking and laughing to another woman and she's fine with it. She knows it's just for fun.

I see her doing the same with another guy, I know she's just having fun. She doesn't cross the boundaries that would make me uncomfortable.

The desire we feel for each other is much more than any flirting we do with other people.

As far as emotional. It's a line I don't cross. Yes, I have women and exes who are friends. If one of them needs help I'll do what I can. But not before letting my girlfriend know what's happening. It's simply being respectful to her. 99% of the time she tells me I don't need her permission to help a friend. I still do it though because that's who I am, and I wouldn't betray her trust like that.

Your partner should want you to feel secure and happy. Discuss it with him. For some, flirting is cheating. To others it's not. Tell him you're not comfortable with him flirting with other women, and he should want to change that.

Yes, it can be nice to flirt with coworkers. Usually you have something in common and in many cases the coworker is around the same age and education level. As you see your coworkers very often, things can get interesting. The same applies for my girlfriend and her coworkers, she has told me about flirting with a male coworker who was very interested in her. Nothing really happened. Flirting is nice and my girlfriend and I discussed about it and we don't have any issues with it if the other is flirting at work.

There are basic problems here. Males typically have grown up not to be in touch with their emotions. The male is not given the privilege that is given to the female, which is to be emotional.

You are making some rather broad assumptions about my position on this topic. I was only advising you that it's common and even if your SO never flirted with anyone, others might still flirt with them.

You cannot externally control someone's social behaviors; they exist on some level in every last one of us. Some people are more aggressive flirters than others, and in those cases I thought I was clear in my original reply that you need to take it at face value and if it crosses lines, then you need to act. But you also have avoid turning every hill into a battle and ignore the minor stuff.

I'll elaborate a little better this time. When i say guys don't cheat emotionally, i mean, that men do not get attached to the woman they're cheating, having sex, or flirting with. Unless there are some base fundamental things missing from his own relationship. Our hardwire is different from a woman's. You know how most women say a guy seems distant or has a one track mind. That's built into all men. The degree of separation may be different but it is there nonetheless. That same factor plus biology allows us to not get attached emotionally. Biology is also what makes men attempt to talk to as many partners as he can. Most having a 25% succes rate at best. Is the guy right for doing so by today's standards of a relationship, no. It's also a female's choice in saying no as well if she knows he taken.
