I'm not particularly good looking and have a beautiful S/O. If you look around there are a lot of couples that appear to be mismatched appearance-wise, so there is hope for everyone. Personality appears to be more important than looks in many cases in a long lasting relationship.

Self-confidence goes a long way when you are looking for a relationship. Look objectively AND subjectively at yourself. Be honest and pick out your best attributes, and your worst. Accentuate the best ones, work on the others until you're comfortable with yourself.

yea that is how I feel sometimes because there are better looking girls that attract cute guys and some are really great guys. but all I want is for my crush to like me back, and see me for more of who I am.

Well its not that you will not attract anyone, the ones that will are gonna be some type of abusive types using her to boost themselves so there's that. Why people stay in abusive relationships? Maybe lack of self love is one of the reasons.

Confidence attracts mates. If you lack confidence, you will probably have a difficult time attracting a mate. So if you lack confidence in the way you look, it certainly holds you back.
