What does it mean when a girl says "I need to get to know you more" when I asked her out?

I'm currently in highschool and I met a girl I like. I barely know her since I met her 3 days ago but my hormones have been telling me to ask her out. My friends told me to just ask her out after school so I did and she had a really shocked expression on her face, I couldn't really tell because she was wearing a mask, but her eyes widened a lot. She said to me, "Where do you wanna go?" In which I answered, "No I didn't mean that kind of going out" she then asked me the same question again, so I said, "I meant like dating" She had answered that with "We should get to know eachother first" but not in like a denial way. I answered with "Sure, sounds good to me" Out of instinct since I usually answer with that, then I walked away and didn't look back, but I overheard her friend saying congratulations to her. What should I do? What does it mean? We have school off tomorrow for a jewish holiday and on Friday I get to see her again, should I approach her about it tomorrow? No clue, never confessed to someone before. My friend said I should've asked for her number or snap, but I didn't know I was supposed to do that before I confessed.

It means exactly that. She needs to know if you are compatible with her before going further. She wants something serious like marriage and children. And she is not rushing to have sex either. It means to be her friend. She wants to make sure you are not just some guy she is going to regret dating or even marrying later. So unless you want to risk her going out with you and saying it's not working out and your heartbroken, or she regrets dating you and breakup with you, I suggest you either get to know her. Otherwise, if you can't handle it, you are free to find somebody else. It will tell us if you really like us or not. Not that you can, because you don't know the person yet to know that. See, all you got is hormones. You got love. And the last thing we need is a horny man or boy who judges his decisions based on that. If you cannot contain yourself, find another girl. Don't ruin this for her. She doesn't deserve that.

I really hope so, man. Because you just started high school and dating shouldn't be on your mind unless you're marrying at 18. You don't want to mess your life up. You don't need experience, you just need to be certain you're ready to make an adult commitment because you are barely a kid. Your only 14/15. Your still very young. Do not be so quick to lose your innocence. I still never dated or had a partner, no boyfriend or premarital sex. I believe in waiting for marriage, and if you want a future with this person, and that is if it is in God's will for you two, you don't want to ruin this for you. You only have 4 years left till adulthood and between that and high school goes by very fast. Enjoy being a teen while you still can.

Yeah, thanks, I never planned on taking it that far. Commitment at this age is nothing serious like marriage or sex.. Maybe I should take dating more seriously than whoever takes my interest first.

It means exactly what it sounds like. You two need to know each more before you become a couple. You don't start a relationship with strangers. Try working up to friends first. Yes, you should approach her again. If you're interested in her, spend time with her, get to know her, earn some trust, find out if you're actually compatible together. If things go well, then see about having a committed relationship. Go out a few times and in a couple weeks, maybe a month, then see if she wants a relationship.

I see what you mean, sorry, I don't really ask out people and every time I've been asked out I declined. I just felt as if it's good for me to put myself out there, but thank you for the answer and I'll try to be her friend to get to know her more.

Then get to know her. If you can see her during the holiday that would be great, otherwise make it a point of seeing her on Friday to talk about the holiday- whether the two of you spent it together or not.
