Why do men cheat?

What do you feel is the most common reasons guys cheat?

It typically happens when men feel dishonored by their spouse. Disrespect and making them feel incompetent are the main components. All of a sudden, the cute receptionist who treats the man really well looks more attractive.

I’d also say that a lack of sex. In modern relationship and marriages, it’s now common for a woman to not prioritize sex. If she doesn’t feel like it, then it doesn’t happen regardless of how starved the man is. For men, sex is such a vital part of the relationship and a lot of women tend to be offended by that.

My wife is a psychologist and it’s honestly really eye opening to hear some of what she tells me. Men’s needs in modern society are really minimized. It’s all focused on women.

I think everyone is prone to having an affair. The key is to setup boundaries, systems, and safe guards to protect yourself and your partner from that happening. For instance, I stopped going to the gym I go to because the women there are half naked and all caked up. It’s really difficult to not let my eyes and mind wander when conversations take place. I ended up going to another gym. Some people might say that’s too much, but I know that I struggle with lust. I’m going to close doors that lead me to temptation. I owe that to my wife.

Apparently men cheat on women or other men because they don't find them attractive anymore. Most people pretend to be someone that they're not, causing others to be attracted to them instead of the person they actually fell in love with. For an example: if a man is in a relationship with his girlfriend and he sees another woman who is much more attractive thick than his previous girlfriend then he's going to try to make his move knowing that he's in a relationship and not caring what his previous girlfriend is. It's very depressing that most guys can't just stay with the person they fell in love with in the first place. In my opinion I think both men and women have a mental illness call infidelity, it's a relationship illness symptom that causes a violation of a couple's emotional and/or sexual exclusivity that commonly results in feelings of anger, sexual jealousy, and rivalry.

Feeling like no matter how much he did it was never enough for his girl. (Common statement by men post breakup regardless of cheating)

I truly believe that's a big part of it. Guy tries hard and the things he does goes unappreciated, while at the same time he feels his girl asking for more and more yet he still doesn't get that good feedback so it's never ending

Then he meets a girl who makes him feel like just him being himself is enough for her. He gets that particular emotional need (that all men want) fulfilled by her and ends up having sex.

I'm no expert but the comment men often say post breakup is a fact. To me that says a lot about the common "why"

First of all, I would never ever cheat, no matter on what the circumstances were.
I think most guys that cheat is often because they are missing something in their relationship so they go and chat to other girls to see if there is a better match for them, which is stupid because they should talk with their partner and be honest.
Or else they're in a toxic relationship and just want to cause pain because they are sadistic like that, where as they should break up so they aren't cheating anymore.
I don't like cheaters and I don't know why you'd put some girl through that but hey, each to their own. Never me though.

Some guys don't know how good they have it with one person and think they can to better. Or if they are in a bad relationship they don't have the guts to end it because they don't want to be alone, but willing to cheat.

But nothing justifies the reason.

Both men and women cheat. One reason is that they are not willing to work on the relationship they are in. Relationships take work and the grass sometimes looks greener on the other side. Instead of working on what they have they cheat thinking they can get from it what is lacking in the relationship.
It also happens when people get into relationships just to say they are in a relationship and not feel lonely. If you don't truly love or care about the other person then you shouldn't be in a relationship with them.

The reasoning is similar to why women cheat. Sometimes, a person isn't receiving everything they need in the current relationship so they seek out another one to get what's missing. For example, the first partner might give them excellent sexual intimacy but not the emotional support required so they'll seek that in another woman or man. A responsible human being would just end the relationship and find a better fit for them but a lot of folks don't have that kind of courage.

The only ones I have known that have cheated were the kind of people that did hook ups/ONS in their past. People that have done that don't think of sex as a special emotional connection so it is much easier for those kinds of people to cheat.

So if you want a good partner for long term, don't be with anyone that has ever done hook ups. that goes for men and women choosing partners.

I did it simply because I was curious and due to porn. I was little when i started, new to online and in general women. Yea i had female friends but i never really thought of women as more than anything but friends. Once I realize we could be more, i got curious. Porn didn't help me, harem porn actually made it even worse and well ya it didn't work as my younger self thought

Opportunity, when someone that fulfills what that person is not getting in the relationship that they are in. I think it's pretty rare for someone that is happy in a relationship to cheat, male or female.
