How do you ignore a person who's being really disrespectful and talking shit behind you?

Should you ignore them? Can you confront them and ask them what is about?
Sometimes it's better to ignore, sometimes not.
Either way is important to remember that their view of you is just that, their view. Your view of yourself is far, far more important.
Chances are their thoughts are small, vindictive, and inconsequential. And perhaps that is how you should view them as a person.

I focus on what I gotta do in my own life. It can be hard but I keep telling myself that focusing on that person is wasted time I could use more productively elsewhere.

Being doing exactly that. Ignore them. Don't acknowledge it. What does it matter what they say? Do you get your feelings hurt by your dog barking? Of course not. You tell it to shut up and then you go about your day.
