(19F) Why do people ask me if I have a boyfriend or seeing someone all that time?

I think I'm a very interesting person but It feels as though I'm just not valid or taken seriously by other people if I'm not sleeping around or dating. All of the people that say this crap are usually in relationships. Now I've never been in a relationship personally, I'm a virgin, I don't have low self esteem, I know myself, and I can carry my own very well. But good god, I just want to curl up and die whenever people look at me and say "you need a relationship." It's like I feel a certain amount of disrespect and go silent for the rest of the convo because I simply feel looked down on and don't care to continue talking. Whenever my cousin is over he's always like "you have a boyfriend?, you should be getting around and finding guys to get life experience." Now I'm a very sweet and polite person so I just say "yeah... maybe..." but what I really wanna say is "why the fuck would I need a boyfriend dude?" My friends in relationships will ask "so you having any crazy hookups?" All the bloody time as if just because I'm single I'm apparently a slut now too. People will say "awww she's so innocent." "She's so immature." "She should just hookup with someone." It's just all very unsolicited to me. If I was in a relationship I wouldn't even wanna be asked or told this stuff because frankly, a partner isn't who I am. I feel like it's just acceptable to ask or tell me this rude crap, and I don't understand why.

We have all felt that way
