Is 2-3 years too much of a age difference for a relationship?

I’ve been talking to this girl for about a year now and we hit it off great. She’s beautiful, smart, and funny. I just recently introduced her to my friends and they all said how I should be with someone my age instead of a girl 2 years older since she will start to look older than me as we age and that sex is better with younger girls and yada yada. Idc about the sexual part, they say it’s that we won’t be able to connect on a long term level since she’s older than me. What do you all think? They want me to get with this other girl who has wanted me for a while and she’s the same age. She’s beautiful too although she works as a bottle girl and has stripped a bit in her past, has one baby from an ex but is a caring person. I’m 21 by the way. I need advice, my friends have me wondering long term thoughts.

So let's see, to start out you are a liar which throws doubt on your story as you say you are 21 but your profile says 25-29. I know, you made a mistake and couldn't change it, right? I call BS on that. A 2 or 3 yr age difference doesn't mean squat after age 18 and the fact that you are fretting over something so insignificant and are lying about your age, and that on top of that an anon makes you sound more like you are trolling. What do you have to say about that? But on the good side you are not asking a dick question like most anon trolls do so at least you got that going for you, which is nice. Nope!! So my girlfriend is 2 years older than me also. Personally, this age gap is so small that it really has no effect on our relationship. We are in the same stage of life. We still grew up with the same things around the same time.

I really don't think this age gap is an issue.

your friends sound kinda douchey in this situation, the age difference is definitely not weird in the slightest, if you like her (and it sounds like you do) then go for it! it's not all about the sex and while i think YOU know that, it sounds like your friends can't grasp the idea that you might like someone outside of sex. therefore their advice is a little shaky because they don't hold the same values.
