I've only been in relationships; my ex boyfriend and my current boyfriend. I got treated differently by them.

1st boyfriend (bad experience)
He treated like a cheap, whatever girlfriend to have fun with; never anything more serious. I let him get away with always going dutch, got drunk at a social gathering few times and made a fiasco, let him get away with only visiting me at night for sex and not taking me out on dates anymore, accepted a cheap promise ring, let him disrespect my mom's house (we once did it in her bedroom while she was working), etc

Current boyfriend (good so far)
We haven't had sex yet and he prefers quality time over just pleasure. I told me I hardly ever drink (never told him my past drunk stories), informed him I don't do cohabitation, not into promise rings nonsense and presented myself as an elegant traditional woman of family values. I'm getting treated much better, we go out on dates and he respects my mother. He said I was a gem and agreed to doing this the old traditional way.

So overall a man treats you the way we act like and our boundaries established?

Yes to an extent. I’d you do not have boundaries and standards for yourself, someone will see that and take advantage of that. It’s also a sign of low self esteem too..
I had a similar experience. I didn’t put boundaries up, lowered my standards, and I never spoke up when I didn’t like something. He treated me like shit. My boyfriend now respects my boundaries and high standards and treats me great…

It depends on the guy. The same can be said about women as well. One big thing to avoid is over generalizations with people. Because it can cause some serious issues with our internal dialog. Let you ended up telling yourself repeatedly that all guys where like your first and kept doing so. That could become part of your internal dialog. Then you become completely convinced all guys are. Not because it's true. But because your internal dialog is constantly convincing yourself that they are. Despite there being absolutely no way to prove it. If you surround yourself with people and media that reinforce such an idea the more likely the idea is to become part of your internal dialog.

The same can be applied to a lot of things as well.
