Do you believe our soul recognises a person even before we talk to them?

I believe it, but only with certain people once in a great while. This has happened to me. I remember meeting and dating this guy and I kept telling him "I found you again." I couldn't explain it to him. I felt a very deep connection with him the night we met. He was helping a neighbor with a project she was doing for Christmas. She invited me to help as well. Then when I saw him come in the door, that feeling was so strong that I knew there was something different about him before I even heard him speak. We have never lost that connection in over four years. Even the list of things we have in common is so long, it's not normal. Maybe this feeling is how the word 'Soulmate' came about. He calls me that all the time. Yes, I do know it is believable.

Yes. Twin flames and all that, soul mates. But I also believe we have multiple in our lifetime. That teach us different things. I also believe we have soul friends and not just romantically linked ones. I believe we connect and bind with people in our lives in all types of ways, from a deep and incredibly beautiful friendship, to love, to sexuality, etc and that we encounter multiple in our lifetime, not a lot, but a handful that make us really 'alive', that's a soul person.

Yes. I felt this with ONE woman. I could literally feel her and understand her without her having to say anything. The feelings were so intense. I loved and hated her at the same time... We were so close but she didn't want to date. Got separated for a few years. Reconnected again. This time she was ready. But i had already gotten married. Life.

I don't think we know enough about what the soul is to answer that question. We haven't even started to do research on it because we don't have the means to do it. But it surely exists or something similar.. Something exists beyond the physical. I'm not a believer in materialism as the end-all-be-all. That's just nonsense.

If you think about it, your feelings are not yours, your thought are not yours, your preferences, your wants, your desires. all seem to be to a certain degree unconsciously controlled by you, and I have been thinking that what if we are just conciseness that experience all of these things and what we call a "soul" is just a word that we use to grasp that thing that experience all of these things.
that what we really are is just "souls" that have all of these things imposed on them, and that can only react to these thigs (such as thoughts, feelings, preferences... etc)

Yes, I feel like there’s a reason why we connect to certain people on a different level that sometimes isn’t appropriate for the relationship. I’ve always felt like I longed for someone, like I’m in search for their presence. It’s a very strange, but beautiful feeling to me.

@PhenomenalQueen I felt the same as you. It was like a never ending search I was on. That's why when I met that guy I wrote about in my opinion, I kept telling him "I found you." I knew the search was over. This search felt like a mission I was sent on, but never knew why until it was finally right in front of me - it was him!

@PhenomenalQueen I am 67 years old and met him when I was 63, so it was a long journey. Do you think this is a type of phenomenon that we could research? The feeling of the search is there, but very hard to explain exactly what it is in words. It's like we are on a mission to find something but won't know what or who until it's right in front of us. Nope, unless you’re meeting in a place where like minded people go. You may click right away in this kind of case. There’s no real thing as a “soul.” There are personalities and traits which you may identify with and recognize because you too have them. Which makes you a bit more compatible with someone (maybe).
