I strongly disagree with this statement. They can protect and "civilize" each other in many ways. This remark is extremely sexist and puts pressure on both genders.
This may have been the case 70 years ago. Now? Women have "civilized" men in to not wanting to have anything to do with marriage or relationships. Hell, most modern women act more like men than men do. Maybe they need to be civilized too.
I think there's an element of truth to the statement, but the statement itself isn't the entire truth. Men can civilise other men given the right milieu, and women can be fierce protectors, as seen in women who lift cars off their kids for instance.
I agree. Men are rash, violent, primal, and instinctive, while women are cunning and complex. We balance each other, make each other whole men have the strength while women have brains. One can't survive without the other.
Maybe in the past before the appearance of capitalism, but not nowadays. Nowadays men and women have only one purpose in life - men to put as many women as they can in their beds, women to drain as many men's pockets as they can.
no. but only on a very pedantic note: they weren't "made" like that. this setup just happens to have emerged as the most effective for human survival after hundreds of thousands of years of evolution.
i reject "made" as a term, cause that implies intend. evolution has no "intend". it's a completely chaotic process that solely relies on randomness and chance combined with environmental factors.
Hell no. You're basically call all men savages who can only be tamed by women. I'm pretty sure whoever said that wanted to lure women into paying for bs courses and books about men.
These stupid gender rules are all outdated. Barely any young people even want to get married or have a family. Just trying to date, have an enjoyable sex life, maybe get into a relationship.

Disagree. I can mostly protect myself. And if he needs me to civilise him, then it's time for him to go back to the cave where he belongs.
To a degree yes. Women protect men in different ways, that men protect us. But we both need each other.
Well said but only some women makes their en civilized but also some men made their women civilized too...

We are all meant to work together, as it works out for us. Each relationship is unique, just like the people in them.

I mean one could think that. But it don't work as anything proves, guys just end up abusing the women there so called protecting.

Civilize us?
Yes. It is unfair if only one is required to do their part.
So given how women want equality, you're gonna have to start protecting yourselves because men are no longer obligated to.
I am not a tool, nor anyone's tool. That's the first thing I agree on.
While it is more than complicated, I generally agree.
These stupid gender rules are all outdated. Barely any young people even want to get married or have a family. Just trying to date, have an enjoyable sex life, maybe get into a relationship.
Yes, that sounds pretty reasonable although I suspect most would not agree.
It may be a little exaggeratory but I guess there's some truth to it in a way, if we're broadly speaking.
That's extremely inaccurate. I would say men were made to provide for women and women were made to raise children.
It's an oversimplification, but there is some truth to it.
I agree with the original question, but I don't agree with the update.
