Do men ever regret losing a good woman?

And for some reason you lose her, maybe because you are too young to appreciate what you had,
maybe because you gave up the possibility of meeting her again,

Do men ever regret losing a woman who truly loved him?

My boyfriend (we are long distance now due to problems we can’t solve, we used to live together in the past though) told me months ago, that if we ever break up or lose each other due to distance and time, I’ll be the only woman he truly loved and that he’ll always regret losing me and that I am someone he wished he could marry and get old with.

We’ve broken up and got reconciled again and again because of inability of meeting each other, he’s locked in China unable to leave and I’m unable to go to China due to its strict covid rules. I think time and distance did their job and this week we probably broke up for the last time.

I just wonder will he ever regret losing me.

I had one that might have epitomized a great housewife. Yet I broke things off with her because she didn't inspire me and actually made me feel lazy working so hard on my behalf, and I felt like she deserved someone who appreciated that a lot.

She wasn't my muse and my ultimate inspiration in life like my wife is now; my wife isn't your obedient housewife type. She's highly independent and has her own career, her own friends, and her own life outside of me. She's my teammate and partner in life's adventures. That's the type with whom I'm most compatible.

I never regretted it but there's an ambiguity in "great". There's "great on paper, great for many" vs. "great for us". She wasn't great for me and I wasn't great for her. She's now happily married to a husband who appreciates her way and I'm very glad for it.

Well, I am not a housewife type at all. I am adventurous, career oriented and etc.

But I think I see where you are coming from, when I met my boyfriend I was pretty independent, successful in what I was doing, didn’t spend that much time thinking about him and was quite selfish to be honest.

I think that’s what he liked in me and the distance made me idealize him so I turned into a selfless lover and kinda lost myself in this love. I think he finds that unattractive because he always told me he wants me to be that independent and careless person as I was when he fell for me, he liked the part that I prioritized my career and he had to beg for my attention.

The problem is at that time I didn’t love him, that’s why I was selfish and didn’t care about him that much and If I turn to that person again, it means I won’t love him.

I never wanted the type of woman who revolved her entire life around me. It's too much because I can't reciprocate and do the same for her. It makes me feel selfish and, in all honesty, I get bored with it. I wanted a woman with her own life as I have my own, and we share each other's worlds to each other while keeping them separate.

I see! Sorry, I wrote the above paragraph before seeing your reply. Forced distance is also tough. I did lose a good one in university but mutually because we both moved so far away from each other after we graduated. I regretted that for a time but she broke it off with me (I was willing to wait however long it takes to meet each other again back then). In hindsight though, as I met more women -- some great, some not so great -- I ceased to regret it since I can't know what would have been if things were different.

And yes I do, however it wasn't a thing I could go back to anyway and wasn't really my call she's long distance like far and we had different plans etc. If it wasn't for that we would be together no doubt.

Thing is that even tho I did care about her, when I showed a bit of my true self, she bolted, I feel like she never really cared about me, I have never experienced real true love where I had a long relationship, even tho I did fuck up and I blamed her for something that might or might not be true, paranoia is something I struggled with and I can't really blame her for bolting.

Possibly. there was a co worker back from my pizza hut days who liked me but i reject her because my family won't accept her because she was Latino, a single mother of two mixed children and she was talking the father of her children. after the rejection she started dating the father of her children again and now she Possibly have more children and still with the father or married her. she was cute but again my family won't like and accept her. i also had other problems going on too at the time.
