Of course I do. My boyfriend had planned a 2 week trip up to visit his parents way before we met, and just a month into our relationship, he was away for 2 weeks so it sucked. We were calling 24/7 though.


My boyfriend and I do that too, “I love you, I love you more, I love you most, I love you mostest” is our thing. We take turns every day to say “I love you mostest” because we both want to say it lol.

My wife and I almost never text or call each other but we see each other all the time. The only time I'm away for long is for overseas business trips, but they usually only last a week and they're usually crunch (back-to-back design meetings, work, spending time with studios and clients of our products -- 16+ hour days typically). So we usually don't text much even in those cases but my wife always meets me at the airport when I arrive home and we hug in the airport.

My wife and I both come from an old-school generation that largely grew up without the internet and mobile phones (I didn't even get a mobile phone until university, and it wasn't a smartphone). We're really not so big into texting and phone calls. I think what might suit us better if we spent a good amount of time apart from each other is to make handwritten letters to each other.

In the rare times that my wife and I text each other to do something other than arranging a date or something, we also write our messages like letters (multiple paragraphs and on the long-winded side, and without expecting immediate responses).

We text some daily but we are never "away".

We don't travel for work and we usually do not go out of town without each other.
She is home every day at 5, 5:30... works one night a while where she gets off at 9.
I get off between 3 and 4 each day. We are home together in the evenings unless one of us has other plans.
