Distance Relationships... Are they worth it?

So basically, I got talking with a girl online that lives just over 2 hours away, It is driveable but I've been thinking, Is it "worth it"?

Yeah it might be a relationship and we get along really well together but having to travel 2 hours every so often just to see her (She's 20, I'm 23) Not sure if she can drive herself. Yeah people might do even longer distance relationships but yeah... Need advice

Im not a fan of LDRs. For one, they aren’t real relationships. They’re fabrications of real relationships bc what you have only exists in the online world. Second, words lose meaning over time, because words are nothing without action and because of the distance these actions are almost impossible. You two could have a better chance since you aren’t that far, but if you’re already leery of 2 hour drives then you’ll really be sick in two months. Third, you get tired. It’s great at first and you maintain a positive outlook but then challenges happen and often get swept under the rug as not to create friction. Especially when hang-out time comes, you don’t want to mess it up so you stay quiet. That can get frustrating. Fourth, you get miserable, lonely, sick of the distance because the calls stop sufficing and you wish they were there very much. I personally don’t feel like all that is worth it unless there’s a silver lining to move in or closer to one another with a real date on it, or you’d already been together in person but have distance for a little while. But LDR is not meant to be permanent.

At your age I wouldn't say it's worth it. Unless you 100% know exactly the kind of girl you want and she fits that perfectly. Aside from that, if you aren't able to see each other pretty regularly then it won't work out. For her too it's prob just a casual thing. Overall I'd say yes they can be worth it but I've always said only if one of the two has plans to move to where the other is once it gets more serious. At your age that's not very practical to do either.

It was worth it to me back in high-school. That's still one of the best relationships that I had. It was tough but once you meet up it's incredible. It's definitely not for some people. I'm okay not seeing the person I love everyday. The question is... Are you?

Yeah... they are.. you guys will eventually meet if you make plans towards it.. regardless of how long the distance is
