I wouldn´t men lie too much, because lying in itself is no good like. If I lied a little it´s still bad, right?
Guys sometimes have the tendency to talk too quickly in terms of not thinking about what they say trying to make the other person happy.
Another reason lie is because they don´t put enough effort in promise, in terms making promises they can´t reach or fulfill.
Why? Mostly because because we (I have to admit I sometimes do that too) want to impress someone but that oftentimes oftentimes fails.
I wouldn´t say it cowardly behavior rather than immature behavior because we have a will to do that it´s just the fact that we realise the impossibility without wanting to admit it. It´s therefore immature because deeds don´t follow our words.

And I wouldn't say lying is cowardly
Lying and cowardice are not the same everyone lies it's the kind of lie that determines cowardice
Most of the reason for the lie matters a lot too.
As for the lies you speak of I have no clue because I think men lie just as much for the same reasons as women

I push myself not to lie. When I was a kid, I definitely had a lying problem and I realized how it was hurting my ability to have real relationships with people and be a man in my own eyes.

A man does not lie unless he believes it is absolutely necessary. It's almost always cowardly.

Men lie just as much as women. Not exclusive to men.. I would even venture to say every woman lies there first time meeting a man. If you have to put on a ton of makeup just to think you look pretty for someone else, that’s a lie
