Does a persons medical history (and family history) have any bearing on whether you decide to make babies with someone?

At the end of the day, no not really.
I don’t seek out people just to have babies with them… I seek out relationships because I like the person, and hope maybe in the future we would get married and have children. So, their personal medical history or family history isn’t really a concern from the start.
However, when it comes to the “talk,” I will bring it up and mention my personal or family medical history and ask about theirs. I am open about it. I don’t have any odd genetic issues, but I and my family have mental health issues, drug/alcohol addiction, some learning disabilities, and twins… So that’s something to talk about.
My current boyfriends medical and family history is similar to mine, and we both know that we’re probably gonna have some f*cord up kids, but that’s the part where we talk about parenting styles and how to raise children.
I don't normally get into that when dating, but when a relationship becomes more serious with a longer-term future, then it would become an important conversation to have.
Thank you for MHG!
