How much would you think a long distant partner should take online?

I consider online dating best chance at relationships unless I can move country but I am often non online because money and bad internet. If you had long distant relationship with online partner, how much responsing would you expect and how much time spent? If not being online is bad, is there another way to talk long distance that is less money? I don't use phone but a computer so calling is also not working and to email social media or dating site internet is needed.

Without a reliable internet, it will be difficult to have a decent conversation online because unfortunately, most social media rely on the internet to connect people.

Texting friends or contacts is very tedious and if you have no internet, very costly, depending on where you call from, what kind of plan you have.

I would say that a rule of thumb is to contact each other for 10-15 minutes each day, just to keep the contact alive. There is no need to stay online for hours because people usually have nothing new or interesting to say after a while.

You could always try to go to a restaurant or café; a great number of them have free internet and all it takes is for you to consume a cheap drink like a lemonade or coffee.

You could even use their internet for free once you know the password to log in. Just stand in front of the shop and the internet signal usually is good enough. Good luck.

I can try finding internet cafe if they have computer can't be texting or calling anyways because I have no phone. 10-15 minutes online I can probably do from my curent computer though so it that is what it takes then it should be fine

Internet café are not as popular anymore because most people have a smartphone. Perhaps you can ask a friend or relative if you could borrow their smartphone from time to time.

LDRs are difficult because of the need for communication and the sometimes difficulty maintaining it. Just talk online as much as you can. There is no magic number of hours or anything.

It is just what you both can comfortably fit in with your schedules.

I think if the person truly likes you and you are upfront about how you have limited time to be online, they will be understanding and cherish the time that you are able to come on. That is all you can really do.

You can still make this work as long as you both are open and honest about time restrictions. If you both understand, shouldn’t be any issues.

It could take longer or shorter depending on varying factors.

I personally would expect regular responding because you can't see them in person. Meaning talking to them daily through text or phone. Maybe video calls 3-4 times a week. The communication needs to be constant and consistent for the relationship to stand a chance in surviving.

I would recommend buying a phone or giving up trying to maintain a long distance relationship. It won't flourish without some sort of technology. And you can get a phone for like $5 in some places. They're fairly inexpensive
