How often would you call your partner if you were long term, long distance?

I'm currently in the US while my wife stayed in Europe for work and family business reasons.

We text and send WhatsApp audios quite regularly and have at least one video call a day - due to different time zones we work it out either in the early afternoon for me so she's having dinner and I'm having lunch and we can virtually eat together - sometimes my mother is with her so I talk with her too - or a couple of hours later when she's getting into bed and we can have a more intimate moment.

I also gave her a videotour of my house and she met Jess (my lawyer's niece and junior attorney who assists me with the day to day activities), and while it is all very nice, I miss her and the kids and it would be perfect with them here.

When I was a young man, long distance calls were expensive, especially calls to foreign countries. Now, it's free. So, there's no excuse to not talk every day.

Occasionally my husband and I are separated by an ocean. We try to talk everyday, but the time difference makes it difficult unless one of us is awake in the middle of the night. For that reason, some days go by without a phone call.
