How often do you see your long distance partner?

Although, an hour and 30 is not really long distance, it's long enough that we only get to see each other once out of the week. Is that viable for a relationship to last or should it be more often than that?

We both work a lot so I think once a week is reasonable especially compared to my last relationship where we were 2 hours away but he only visited once a month or I would visit him once a month.

as long as it feels right to you it shouldn’t matter. I think about my past relationships and how unhealthy it was to see each other every day at the beginning. I think it could be really good, especially since you both have a lot going on with work.

@7Phoenix7 This is what Iove about you you're rational. People are saying once a week isn't enough when you have people that are in a relationship that don't even live far apart and don't see each other but once a week because life gets in the way people have jobs they have to work

Back when I tried an LDR we’d see each other 1-2 times a week, which in hindsight was only functional for a short term arrangement. We didn’t work out ultimately because there was no silver lining, no solid plans (and I don’t means hopes and wishes) to close the distance and it was hard to build with a dynamic like that.

As long as you communicate every day or at least quite regularly, distance should not be a factor.

LDRs can be a great way to foster a relationship. It builds trust, requires commitment without expectations, promotes candid communication, and puts an emphasis on desire and want when a real meetup occurs.

This should not be a lifelong experience, though. At some point one of you has to sacrifice without regret.

My wife and Iived 300 miles apart when we first met. It was 4.5-5 hours by car. There was a city between us and a few times we picked a day during the week and drove there for a date. The first time we did it was on Valentines day and it was so awesome we did it a couple of more times. Driving less than and hour is definitely doable.

Depends on the distance really. If it is a few hours away then maybe 2 times a week. However, if they are in another state or country then it can range anywhere from once in 3 months to once a year.

Although the girl I am seeing is 12 hours apart time zone wise we video chat two or three times a day. When I am going to work she is coming home from work. She is twelve hours ahead of me.
We have not met in person yet but plan to later this year. Air fare is expensive but once I get there hotel and food are cheep.
Making it work depends on how much effort each is willing to do to make it work. For us we both are committed to making it work.

It's not really long distance. It's like a hop away. We just live in different cities but it's not that far. It's like someone living in Manhattan and the other in Philadelphia which is just about an hour and 50 mins. Not that far at all.
