I am not sure what it matters which side of the bed it was. Either way its all the same. It happened to me once I awoke to finding the bed dirty. My husband was ill and had an accident on the bed. I was disgusted because of the obvious but I got up checked on my spouse then proceeded to clean up the bed. Then I showered up. Thats was some years ago. However Lately since he been bed bond After 7 surgeries and 2 strokes I have had to do a lot of cleaning up. It happens.
