Is it okay to ask my boyfriend to send me his share of the dinner payment?

We have been together 6 months. Usually I send my shsre of our dinner through Paypal. He suggested I do that once and we made it a routine. This time around I paid with my card. He didn't offer to pay his share or send it to me on Paypal. I'm worried he thinks I treated him. How do I ask without making it awkward? Would it be best to just let him pay the next meal?

I'm a firm believer in sharing the cost of dating... that said, for me, it has always been, one of us pays for the whole date... we just switch off who is doing the paying for a given time out.

No it actually wouldn't be awkward. If i was in his place, it would be totally normal. Just write a simple message and keep it subtle. If you think this would make a big deal. Just causally say him that he's paying the next dinner. It would be normal, if he knows you very well
