If they just poured coke into coffee instead of milk,,, it fits

if it’s without reason and is a put down, then no it’s obviously not valid.

If they are actually useless, then yeah it’s sort of fair, a friend of mine is we all agree fucking useless, as at some point each of us has had to help him out, usually it’s a message or phone call from his wife. He thinks he can do something as he sees how others do it and thinks it’s easy, then fails.

Also things like repeatedly not doing something, would make that person fucking stupid or useless or an idiot.

I take the piss when they do something, then I should expect it back.

It’s the nature of how it is said.

I think I have seen far too many people who call others stupid, but cannot handle it when they themselves are called stupid, then they begin the blame game, it's really annoying.

I would never call my SO stupid. If I am upset with him, we will have a discussion about it calmly. If I believe that my SO is "useless", I would not have gotten into a relationship with him in the first place. Throwing around insults is not going to benefit anyone. If anything, it would only make the situation worse than it already is.

Please note that I meant, in an abusive (or a toxic) relationship, calling your partner names is usually one of the early signs of psychological abuse. So in a toxic relationship, calling your SO names may be normal, but in healthy relationships it is not

It depends on the context. I do call my brother stupid, but only when we are arguing. Sometimes it is playful. However, in a more serious context, I would never call him stupid
