Why would you marry someone with a 20 year age gap knowing they are "Likely" to die long before you do and men already generally die earlier?

I've seen some attractive older guys.

The first point of me getting into a marriage would be love and hopes to live a long life together. I don't like starting over romantic relationships.

Why would you want to race to the grave? You both will be very old when it happens and who knows what has happened in the shape of age treatments when you get that old. Besides you should have kids taking care of you when you reach that old age, if you raised and treated them well.

Because you never know when someone will die despite their health conditions.

A man can die sooner who doesn't even drink smoke or do drugs in his 30s.

While can who does smoke drink gamble do drugs can live upto 70 .


Death is a surprise gift no one knows or can imagine when someone will get it.

One may get many good decades together even though someone dies before the other, that's worth a lot. I don't live by statistics in general, and never consider doing that concerning death. That is way too uncertain for me.

That's a choice you can make. Not everyone is meant to stay in one relationship lifelong. You can move on to the next when he dies, but all that doesn't sound smart to me.

Never thought about it until this year. The woman I'm interested in is (I think) 18 years younger than I am (age hasn't come up in our conversations yet).

Those are fair points, I’ve been in relationships with women 20+ years younger and they’ve worked out well, not sure if it’d make sense for marriage though

So far older guy is attractive and good in bed, then age is not a problem, as far death, nobody know about the date and time of death, younger people also die due to disease or accidents

Probably because love, attachment and compatibility overcompensates the matter of age.

To me women gets older quickly than men, so marrying a woman that you are elder to with 20yrs is not bad, because you will continue to find that woman attractive
